A Grateful Farewell to REACH

 

REACH (Reaching for Educational and Counseling Harmo= ny) is a specialized program that has been part of NW Regional ESD for sixt= een years.  It was developed by a teacher and a social worker,&= nbsp; both of whom are still with the program and have built REACH into a highly = respected and effective therapeutic and educational entity.

 

REACH serves students  = who are referred by districts to the program due to behavioral and emotiona= l challenges that require intervention beyond that which has been available= in their neighborhood school.  The goal of the REACH program is to assist these students in acquiri= ng the skills they need to transition successfully back to their home distr= ict.  The program is run with a high degree of individualized instruction = and collaborative teamwork among the licensed and classified staff.
